Is managed video conferencing really that easy to use?

In our series of blogs thus far, we have touched on many of the reasons why video conferencing as a service makes more sense than such ‘free’ alternatives as Lync, Google Hangouts and Skype. Those reasons have included interoperability and cost-effectiveness, and we can also add ‘ease of use’ to that list.

After all, readers of our blogs will know of the very real practical barriers involved in using such services, including the need for every prospective participant to have an account with the given service, in addition to using the software of that service on a compatible device.

Otherwise, though, one might imagine that a ‘free’ service is simpler and easier to use than a dedicated cloud video conferencing service.
