Why Your Old Projector Is Not A Hit With The Kids

BenQ interactive LCDProjectors have been the staple resource of the classroom for decades. Reinforcing words with images and visual text adds emphasis to key points and thus has more of a memorable impact on pupils. As a consequence, pupils benefit from an improved learning experience and achieve better exam results.

The problem is that the old trusty projector isn’t what it was back in the day. All the impact and emphasis it once had is repetitive and predictable. Break out of the classic projector screen and half your students will be asleep before you figure out how the remote works again.

Education needs to evolve to meet the changing needs of pupils and what worked 20 years ago will always need the odd tweak to keep things fresh and up-to-date. That’s just the way things are and the modern day projector is designed to claim back the classroom with that all-important impact.

You call that a projector?

The first question you need to ask yourself is have you seen what a projector can do these days? We’re well into the iPhone generation and even the more basic projectors have been producing pretty good picture quality over the last few years. Your students are used to Full HD, Blu-ray and 3D cinema and your dusty old projector is no match for high-definition.

At the top end of the scale however, you can get LCD projectors that are most definitely a cut above anything on the current market. Displaying images, videos or computer screenshots on a flat screen, LCD and liquid crystal projectors communicate your message in a visual language that your students can understand.

Educational technology is constantly developing and the modern classroom has a range of tools it can choose from to improve the learning experience. With Interactive LED screens you bring the latest educational power tool into your classroom.

Project and connect

With all the connectivity options available with modern devices you can connect Interactive LED boards to anything from the latest computers and tablets to Blu-ray players and whatever the next “in” gadget may be.  This allows you to connect with up to 10 students and interact with them simultaneously.

Alternatively, if you feel the projector still has a place in your classroom, or you’ve recently upgraded, you can combine the modern projector with Interactive Whiteboards to enable teachers and pupils to annotate and interact with any display or projected computer application. Although you don’t get the cutting-edge technology of Interactive LED screens, you still bring the interactive element to your presentations, with Dual touch allowing two students to interact at any one time.

So is it time to upgrade?

Effective teaching is about engaging your students and tuning their inquisitive minds into an attention span. You’re simply not going to do that with outdated technology. Whether you opt for a projector upgrade or look into alternatives like the SMART Board or Interactive LED screens, by upgrading your educational technology you will be upgrading the impact and effectiveness of your classroom.
